Our Mission

The Pepper Pot Centre’s mission is to provide comprehensive support to older people from Caribbean and African backgrounds, helping them live independent, fulfilling lives. Community resources are harnessed to meet every member’s needs and maintain a vibrant, supportive environment.

A Snapshot of Recent Highlights

  • New Members Orientation (NMO):
    Nearly 50 new members joined us for a lively welcome day featuring Chair Yoga, word searches, dominos, bingo with prizes, a delicious lunch, and joyful music and dancing. Everyone left with a food package.

  • Day Out at Sandown Park Racecourse:
    Members celebrated 150 years of racing and enjoyed live music in a memorable day out.

  • Celebrity Visit:
    Trinidadian actor Rudolph Walker (EastEnders) joined our Christmas celebration, shared stories, and sold twenty-five copies of his biography.

  • Great Exhibition Road Festival:
    In partnership with Imperial College London, members explored science exhibits, attended talks, joined a carnival parade, and showcased handmade butterfly wings from a previous workshop.

  • Community Trips & Celebrations:
    From cultural events to senior citizens’ tributes, our members have enjoyed a variety of outings. Congratulations to member Pansy Gabriel, who won a raffle prize presented by Ram John Holder (Desmond’s).
